Lisa Harwood
Mid Glamorgan, Wales - Yoga Teacher
Hi I'm Lisa. I'm a Registered Nurse with over 35years experience working in clinical and leadership roles. I completed my training as a vinyasa yoga teacher in 2018. I specialise in sharing yoga to young people and adults with learning disabilities.
This has led my yoga training journey to develop my knowledge in different yoga spheres that can be adapted for my yogis. This has included Yoga Nidra, Restorative Yoga, Somatic Yoga, Yoga for Special Need and Teen Yoga.
Resulting in the development of the “Yoga for me’ approach to teaching yoga which was co-written with a registered nurse in learning disabilities. I have published articles in SEN magazine and Learning Disabilities Nursing Journal.
I am currently studying for a PhD. The focus of my research is on the effect of yoga on balance in adults with learning disabilities and its impact on daily life.
Lisa is passionate in making yoga inclusive and accessible regardless of physical or intellectual ability and developing others to teach yoga to this wonderful group of young people.
