We are Gathering Yoga Teachers Together!

And we would love you to join us from 28th-30th June in the beautiful setting of Brathay on the banks of Lake Windermere.

At our first Yoga Teachers Together Gathering you will:

  • Learn from our most experienced and knowledgeable teachers.
  • Meet and connect with like-minded yoga teachers.
  • Expand your yoga practice beyond asana.
  • Relax and rejuvenate in the beautiful Lake District.
  • Enjoy delicious and healthy vegetarian/vegan food.
  • Have the opportunity to help us create an organisation that best serves you.

Teachers

We are still putting together our line-up, but we can promise you teachers from a variety of different styles and traditions. Teachers from our Yoga Teachers Together registered schools will impart their wisdom and guide you through a diverse array of practices.

Full line-up coming soon!

Shape YTT

We want your ideas and inspiration! On Saturday we will spend time gathering your opinions on how Yoga Teachers Together can best serve you and what you want from our fledging organisation. More events? More guidance? More support? We want Yoga Teachers Together to be an organisation led by the needs of its members, and this will be the perfect opportunity for you to share your thoughts and influence our future direction.

Saturday Evening Kirtan

There will be a communal session of music, chanting, percussion and singing. You will be welcome to either enjoy from the sidelines or fully immerse yourself by picking up a drum, tambourine or shaker and joining in. This will either take place in Brathay’s fabulous yurt or - if the weather is kind to us - we will take our kirtan to the lakeside as the sun sets.

Location

The Yoga Teachers Together Gathering takes place at Brathay near Ambleside in the stunning Lake District. Brathay’s grounds provide direct access to Lake Windermere, whether you fancy a freshwater dip, or ankle-deep paddle or just an opportunity to admire the view. The Lake District is renowned for its walks, and both hillside and lakeside you will find incredible views in almost every direction.

Yoga sessions will take place in the Theatre, along with our discussion sessions. We also have use of a yurt where our kirtan session will take place.

We have sole use of Old Brathay. Accommodation is in spacious dormitories of 4 or 6, with plenty of storage. There are a number of communal areas, so you can either socialise with your fellow yoga teachers (and even play table tennis or table football) or find a quiet corner to settle down with a book or journal. An adjoining kitchen and dining room will serve up our delicious meals.

Check-in will be from 4pm on Friday 28th June. Room check-out on Sunday 30th June is at 10am, with our final session concluding at midday.

The postcode for directions is LA22 0HP. Brathay is around 30 minutes from the M6, J36 if you are coming from the south, or 50 minutes from J40 if you are driving from the North.

The nearest train station is Windermere. Bus 505 to Croft Lodge takes around 25 minutes and is just a 10-minute walk from Brathay.

If you wish to book a private room or extend your stay, please contact Brathay directly (extra charges will apply).

Food

The Yoga Teachers Together Gathering is fully catered, so you should be well fed! We will be dishing up a welcome dinner on our opening night, breakfast, lunch and dinner on Saturday, and a farewell brunch on Sunday. Food will be nutritious and plant-based, down-to-earth and colourful. All meals will be served in our own kitchen at Old Brathay (washing-up karma will be appreciated!)
